Our Story

Since 1990 Edi Osborne has coached, mentored, and trained hundreds of business owners, managers, and accounting firms on how to maximize their potential.

Steve Osborne's skills as a technology consultant and his training in HR blended with his years of experience administering a regional accounting firm, gives him a unique perspective on the value CPAs can bring to their clients.

Together they created Mentor Plus in 1996. In Edi’s words “Steve's understanding of the inner workings and culture of an accounting firm melded with my background as a business performance consultant, to create the most comprehensive advisory training program available to the profession.”

Not long after Steve and Edi began their series of workshops, the American Institute of CPAs approached Mentor Plus to launch a strategic alliance making the Mentor Plus Advisory Training more accessible to its membership. The AICPA saw the Mentor Plus program as the missing link for the expanded advisory role practitioners would need to adopt to be successful in the future. Although that vision for the future has not changed, Mentor Plus programs have continually improved to keep up with ever changing business landscape.

In 2002 Mentor Plus and Geni Whitehouse crossed paths and discovered a common vision for the profession and passion to make a difference. An instant bond was formed. The relationship expanded over the years and formalized in 2009. As a CPA, Geni's perspective greatly expands Mentor Plus' ability to serve the profession.

All three principals take a hands-on approach to everything they do. Having always focused on the quality (not quantity) of their client relationships, the principals are able to provide their clients with a rare measure of exclusivity. That's why many clients of Mentor Plus would like the relationship to stay their secret weapon.

Going Green Minimize

Just as the world is changing, the way we develop and deliver training is changing too.  Mentor Plus has made a major commitment to cutting edge technology to support the development and delivery of our training programs. Our goal is to reach more professionals, in more ways, and more cost effectively without compromising the learning experience.

The days of flying people in from around the country for a training just doesn't work anymore. The reasons begin with what happened on 911 and mounted up from there.
